Illustration

When illustration is used and how it looks.

What exists today

Bridge has no illustration system yet. Bridge OS has a few one-off graphics in public/graphics/ (calendar sync, scheduling, browsing insights), used on the profile and settings pages.

  • Decorative graphics get alt="" and aria-hidden="true".
  • A graphic that looks different in dark mode swaps after the page mounts, with a placeholder first, so the wrong one never flashes.
  • Illustration colors come from the illustration-only palette (see Color), never from interface tokens.

Not decided yet

Until these are settled, follow Bridge OS as it is today.

  • Whether Bridge wants an illustration style at all, and if so who owns it. There is no illustration system today.
  • Where illustrations may appear (empty states, onboarding, promo cards) and how they look in dark mode.

Sources

  • Bridge OS public/graphics/ and src/components/ui/profile-tab.tsx (where the graphics are used).
  • bridge-design-system skill → Graphics palette (illustrations only).
  • Bridge OS DESIGN.md → Dark Mode (assets that change in dark mode).
